The art of disemboweling an animal. That a pretty gross subject, even grosser to do it,
but somebody has to do it.
I was 28 years old the first time I saw the insides of an animal, a deer,
specifically. I can not think of a term to describe how I felt, I could use
spiritual but that would imply some type of belief, yet it caused some deep thoughts.
If anything it put life on a different level.
There were all these things and they were in the inside of the deer. The
deer looked fine, other than I was pulling out these things. It was a soft machine. I’m
thinking, I can understand hard mechanics, like a mouse trap or internal combustion
machine. It starts at the mouth, (gas spout) and goes out the exhaust. Fuel,
changed to a different form. This thing is nothing more than a beautiful machine,
I have destroyed it, now I’m going to fuel up on it. And I enjoyed every bite.

I really don’t have harsh sentiments towards hunting, and that stuff, as I said
meat taste good, ( bad for you, I believe). But could there be a different way.
Think about it, at some point, at some point the human population is going to be to big
to sustain a hunt. Makes no difference, if the price for a tag goes up, as I’m sure for
each one that is legally taken an illegal one is as well, I personally know of a few illegal.
You can take all your hunting propaganda, about your supporting the wildlife. As far as
I’m concerned my taxes support the wildlife, as well as the bureaucracy that doesn’t.
Now before you get your camoflosed skivvies in a bunch, I personally think the rangers
are good folks with a genuine interest in the well being of nature, its his flipping boss,
who isn’t, he is just a politicker.
Back to the deer . We all have our enjoyments, and the right to enjoy them, but
we do need to give the future some thought. I don’t mean the system, I mean how we
look at wildlife and how our neighbors look at the birds and bees. It starts at the
bottom.
I use to fish and garden, untill I found out you could buy the stuff at the store.
Anyway, its something to think about, ,,,,
