I feel like another round of talks on fortifying the schools are comming up, so I maybe it is time to rethink this school shooting thing. Lets forget about all our trivial little issues that get in the way of our problem solving abilities and lets get right to the heart of the issue or "problem". The problem is the words "school shootings" and the thought that it can, and has happened. The issue is how to prevent it.

Once we start in on the problem we lose sight of the issue that creates the problem, at the very least we need to recognize this. What is the most important thing here, to gaurd against or prevent? Look at everything we gaurd, we just have to build bigger and bigger fences.

First, this is not a rash of school shootings, this is a media thing. If you skew (to capitalize on our lurid and prurient interests) the statistics or the wording, you grab ratings. Look back on the era of Pre-Schools abusing children, this Satanism and sex thing. It was not to the degree that it was publicized to be. So-sorry to those who were on the end of that witch hunt. Look at what the media puts on their particular media stream when the ratings are being tallied. We are being, worked, and then we get all wound up. Same with the missing children. I was in a police station a few years back and the wall was covered with pictures of children and teens. I mean there were hundreds. I asked if the pictures included those of parents who had run off with their children. I was told no, they had all been checked out with both parents. I was then told all these children were from Nevada. It ain't happening, this is all in line with chicken little and the sky is falling.

No one likes to see this type of thing happen and we should do all what we can to prevent it. We now have to decide if Cultural Arts Centers are more important than Youth Centers. This is a no brainer, thank you.
