Here is something to think about. All the writers, pundits and wannabe listen tos have fallen right into place. We may not consciously know, or even understand it, yet I believe it is taking place. The status qou may not consciously understand it, but they let the flow happen. If they didnt, wed be no better off than an Iraqi who cant complain.
This may be a freedom thing, its a bit too big for me to understand, and I believe far to big for the general mass to even want to try and understand. Ya got to think about this.
Case in point, I have been blogging for about five years now. http://www.thinkaboutthis.com I started because I was fed up with "the way things are" and just wanted to laugh at some of the things that we do and think about in our daily pursuit of happiness so I decided that I wanted to let the world know how I felt things should be.
I fully believe that I have some good thoughts on change. I completely believed that it would generate responses. As I went through guest pages and response avenues I generated one response, and duly posted it. Since that response in 1998, (Incidentally, I think that it was a fake response from a kind friend) I have diligently continued and created what I have. Almost without exception when I write my stuff, I have this deep rooted feeling that someone is listening. The biggest listen I got in these five years was from our government. There is an extremely interesting story behind that. But for all the listening I think I will get when I write, aint no one listening, until, until you go to far and someone is about to be brought into the light. Then the ears pick up.
There is a definite theme to my page, and if one reads my writes they will pick it up. But since no one reads, our stuff, its meaningless. It is all write and no read.
I am overwhelmed at the stuff, good stuff, that is out there, way to much, way to much. And now that blogging has become fashionable and our opinions are being collectively put up it, the thoughts that the general person has, has become superfluous
We all know what political blogging is. It is when you write the truth, and the power calls you a complainer with no solution. Sometimes there is no immediate or easy solution. But just because one complains about taxes, doesn't mean that our tax dollars are not being wasted.
I think what yall need to understand is, actually I need to understand it, is. Until you get your stuff on the front page of the Washington post it will only be read by the likes of me, maybe. I will read it and say, yea they got a good point. The wrong end of your writes will say, Im sure glad he is spouting off, cause it keeps him in a place where he isnt a problem.
Incidentally I dont have a solution, so lets all keep writing, it keeps us sedated in our little world. Maybe someday they will read my stuff and Ill be the next Ben Franklin or the new Bin Franklin. Remember the best thing is to just thinkaboutthis.
